Installing the Remote Printer Console Before you install the program, make sure you have the following hardware and software required to install the program: DOS Monitor Option Version 3.3 or later (You must be runnning under a pure DOS environment. The Remote Printer Console will not work in DOS emulation mode.) EGA/VGA or compatible Mouse; the mouse driver must be installed. (You can also operate the program with the keyboard.) Follow these steps to install the Remote Printer Console program: 1 Make sure your Brother machine is connected to your computer and that it is Online. 2 Start your computer and go to the DOS prompt. If you are in Windows®, exit and return to the DOS prompt. 3 Insert the Brother CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. 4 At the DOS prompt (C:\>) type x: (Substitute the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive for "x") and press Enter. C:\>x: 5 Type CD RPCX and press Enter. x:\>CD RPCX 6 Type RPCSETUP and press Enter. x:\RPCX>RPCSETUP 7 Follow the instructions of the installer. F O R D O S U S E R S 12 - 2
