Adjusting the Flash Exposure Compensation Still Images Movies Just as with regular exposure compensation (=52), you can adjust the flash exposure from -2 to +2 stops, in 1/3-stop increments. ●●Configure the setting by choosing [ ] menu (=23) > [Flash settings] > [Flash exposure compensation]. ●●The correction level you specified is now displayed. ●● When there is a risk of overexposure, the camera automatically adjusts the shutter speed or aperture value for flash shots to reduce washed-out highlights and shoot at optimal exposure. However, you can deactivate automatic adjustment of the shutter speed and aperture value by choosing [ ] menu (=23) > [Flash settings] > [Safety FE] > [Off]. Shooting with FE Lock Retain the flash output level. Still Images Movies 1 Raise the flash and set it to [ ] or [ ] (=61). 2 Record the flash output level. ●●Aim the camera at the subject to shoot with the exposure locked.
