Capabilities - Displays the type of switch, be it Layer 2 (L2) or Layer 3 (L3). Platform - Switch Description including name and model number. SIM State -Displays the current Single IP Management State of the Switch, whether it be enabled or disabled. Role State - Displays the current role the Switch is taking, including Commander or Member. A stand-alone switch will always have the candidate role. disable sim
Purpose
Used to disable Single IP Management (SIM) on the Switch.
Syntax
This command will disable SIM globally on the Switch.
Restrictions
Only administrator-level users can issue this command.
disable sim
Description
Parameters
None.
Example usage:
To disable SIM on the Switch:
DES-3026:4#disable sim
Success.
Command: disable sim

show sim
Purpose
Used to view the current information regarding the SIM group on
the Switch.
Syntax
This command will display the current information regarding the
SIM group on the Switch, including the following:
Device Name - Displays the user-defined device name on the
Switch.
Capabilities – Displays the type of switch, be it Layer 2 (L2) or
Layer 3 (L3).
Platform – Switch Description including name and model number.
Role State – Displays the current role the Switch is taking, including
Commander or Member. A stand-alone switch will always have the
candidate role.
Discovery Interval -
Time in seconds the Switch will send discovery
packets out over the network.
show sim
Description
