Chapter 6. Configuring the Node To configure certain cluster parameters, you must modify the node or cluster configuration in one of the following ways: • If your cluster boots from a CSN, it is already set up to PXE boot. See the DX Object Storage Cluster Services Node (CSN) Installation and Configuration Guide for more information about configuring the DX Storage cluster. • If your cluster does not boot from a CSN, you can: • PXE boot the cluster as discussed in the DX Object Storage Getting Started Guide. • Boot the cluster using a centralized configuration server as discussed in the DX Object Storage Getting Started Guide. Because of the variety of ways you can configure your cluster boot options, throughout the DX Storage documentation, they are referred to collectively as the cluster or node configuration file. See one of the preceding resources for more information about the tasks required to configure the cluster. Option Names and Descriptions All configuration files contain name/value pairs for setting configuration options. The format of the name/value pair lines is: name = value Any white-space before the name field, between the name field and the "=", and between the "=" and the value field is ignored. Note Parameters and values are case-sensitive. Misspelling parameters or values, entering parameter names in the incorrect case, or entering illegal parameter values prevents the node or cluster from booting. Blank lines and lines beginning with "#" are ignored. If "#" characters appear on a line after the "=", they will be considered part of the option's value field - not as a comment. Chapter 6. Configuring the Node

To configure certain cluster parameters, you must modify the node or cluster configuration in one of

the following ways:

•

If your cluster boots from a CSN, it is already set up to PXE boot.

See the DX Object Storage Cluster Services Node (CSN) Installation and Configuration Guide for

more information about configuring the DX Storage cluster.

6.1. Option Names and Descriptions

All configuration files contain name/value pairs for setting configuration options. The format of the

name/value pair lines is:

name = value

Any white-space before the name field, between the name field and the “=”, and between the “=”

Note

Parameters and values are case-sensitive. Misspelling parameters or values, entering
