Servicing and Upgrading an IP4700 3 To install a link control card: ! CAUTION Handle the link control card gently, and use an ESD wristband. IMPORTANT: IP4700 link control cards are not the same as DAE link control cards. Replace a failed link control card with one of the same type (see page 1-12). Once the link control card is installed, the active LED turns on. The activity LEDs of any affected disk modules should resume a steady flicker. If the disk activity LEDs do not flicker within 6 seconds, remove the link control card and insert it again. 1. Lift up the latch on the new link control card. 2. Align the link control card with the guides in the slot. Gently slide it into the slot. 3. Push down the latch until the link control card is fully seated in the slot. 4. Reattach the copper cable on the EXP connector, if required. Replacing a Link Control Card 3-19
