The Standby Power Supply (SPS) 4 Installing an SPS in a Rackmount Tray This section explains how to install the two SPSs in a rackmount tray. It assumes the SPS tray has already been installed in the cabinet. The installation kit contains parts needed to install the SPS in any configuration. Therefore, you may have unused parts remaining after you complete the installation correctly. IMPORTANT: With a rackmount system, the SPS units must be placed directly beneath the enclosure to which it will connect. EMC assumes that the person who installed the SPS tray mounted it directly beneath the IP4700. To install an SPS in a rackmount tray: IMPORTANT: The SPS weighs 9.1 kg (20 pounds). 1. Remove the SPS from its packaging and place it on a clean, static-free surface. 2. Use two screws to fasten an attachment bracket to the rear left side of the left SPS. Tighten the screws securely. See Figure 4-3. 3. Use two screws to fasten an attachment bracket to the rear right side of the right SPS. Tighten the screws securely. See Figure 4-3. 4. From the back of the cabinet, slide the SPS units into the mounting tray, as shown in Figure 4-4. Installing an SPS in a Rackmount Tray 4-5
