Chapter 5: Using the BIOS Setup Utility Resetting BIOS passwords To reset BIOS passwords, you must either reset and clear all BIOS settings, or use the Clear Password jumper. To clear all BIOS settings, see "Resetting the BIOS" on page 116. To reset BIOS passwords: 1 Follow the instructions in "Preventing static electricity discharge" on page 36. 2 Turn off the server, then disconnect the power cords and all other cables connected to the server. 3 Remove the top panel. For instructions, see "Opening the server case" on page 41. Warning Moving the jumper while the power is on can damage your server. Always turn off the server and unplug the power cords and all other cables before changing the jumper. 4 Place a jumper across the PASSWORD CLEAR jumper pins of jumper JP4. PASSWORD CLEAR pins 5 Turn on the server and let the operating system load, then turn off the server. Resetting BIOS passwords
To reset BIOS passwords, you must either reset and clear all BIOS settings, or

Warning
