Chapter 4: Installing Components Installing fan components Replacing a fan Warning To maintain correct air flow and cooling, never remove a fan without immediately installing a replacement. To replace a hot-swap fan: 1 Remove the top rear panel. For instructions, see "Removing the top rear panel" on page 41. 2 Identify the failed fan. The fan fault indicator points to the failed fan while the server is on. A failed fan is also indicated by the system fault indicator on the server front panel. Replacing a fan
To replace a hot-swap fan:

Remove the top rear panel. For instructions, see
“Removing the top rear
panel” on page 41
.

Identify the failed fan. The fan fault indicator points to the failed fan while
the server is on. A failed fan is also indicated by the system fault indicator
on the server front panel.
Warning
To maintain correct air flow and cooling, never remove a
