Chapter 4: Installing Components Replacing the media drive bracket The media drive bracket contains the optional media drives (CD drive and diskette drive). Caution The drives in the media drive bracket are not hot-swappable. Before removing the bracket, make sure that the server is turned off and power cords are unplugged. To replace the media drive bracket: 1 Follow the instructions in "Preventing static electricity discharge" on page 36. Make sure that you turn off the server, then unplug the power cords and all other cables connected to the server. 2 Remove the top rear panel. For instructions, see "Removing the top rear panel" on page 41. 3 Remove the top front panel. For instructions, see "Removing the top front panel" on page 43. 4 Remove the fans and the fan cage. For instructions, see "Replacing a fan" on page 58 and "Replacing the fan cage" on page 59. 5 Unplug the power and data cables that connect to the media drive bracket. 6 Remove the screw that secures the media drive bracket to the server.
