Chapter 4: Installing Components If you are adding a new drive, remove the four screws that secure the hard drive spacer to the drive tray, then remove the spacer from the tray. Screw Screw Screw Screw 6 Line up the screw holes in the new drive with the holes in the side of the drive tray, then secure the drive to the tray with the four screws you removed in Step 5. 7 Make sure that the tray's release lever is open, then slide the new drive into the empty hot-swap bay. 8 Close the drive's release lever. Replacing the hot-swap hard drive cage To replace the hot-swap hard drive cage: 1 Follow the instructions in "Preventing static electricity discharge" on page 36. Make sure that you turn off the server, then unplug the power cords and all other cables connected to the server. 2 Remove the front cover, if installed.
