If you experience problems sending and receiving faxes, try using a slower Speed. The following table provides the available fax speed settings. Table 7-2 Set the send and receive speed Fax speed setting Fax speed Fast v.34 (33600 bps) Medium Slow v.17 (14400 bps) v.29 (9600 bps) 1. On the control panel Home screen, touch Menu. 2. Scroll to Utilities and touch Settings. 3. Touch Fax Settings, Fax Send, Fax Dialing, and Fax Send Speed. Or Touch Fax Settings, Fax Receive, Fax Dialing, and Fax Receive Speed. 4. Touch any of the following options to set the fax send or receive speed. ● Slow (9600 bps) ● Medium (14400 bps) ● Fast (33600 bps) Set the dial type Use this procedure to set tone-dialing or pulse-dialing mode. The factory-set default is Tone. Do not change the setting unless you know that your phone line cannot use tone dialing. NOTE: The pulse-dialing option is not available in all countries/regions. 1. On the control panel Home screen, touch Menu. 2. Scroll to Utilities and touch Settings. 3. Touch Fax Settings, Fax send, and Fax Dialing. 4. From the Fax Dialing options, touch the toggle button next to Pulse Dialing Mode to turn it on or off. Set fax forward You can set up the printer to forward your faxes to another fax number using the control panel. All faxes are forwarded in black and white, regardless of how they were originally sent. HP recommends that you verify the number you are forwarding to is a working fax line. Send a test fax to make sure the fax machine is able to receive your forwarded faxes. 1. On the control panel Home screen, touch Menu. 2. Scroll to Utilities and touch Settings. 3.
