9. Close the front door. Store supply user data The HP cartridges used with this printer contain a memory chip that assists in printer operation. This memory chip may store a limited set of supply and printer usage data, which may include: job size, types of job, media type, and printing frequency. HP collects a sampling of the memory chips from cartridges returned to HP's free return and recycling program (HP Planet Partners: hp.com/recycle). HP partners who assist in recycling this cartridge might have access to this data, as well. Any third party possessing the cartridge might have access to information on the memory chip. This information helps HP perform analytics for business operations, customer support, and product improvement. 1. On the control panel Home screen, touch Menu. 2. Scroll to Utilities and touch Settings. 3. Touch Supplies, and then touch the toggle button next to Store Supply Usage Data to turn it on or off. Touch the toggle button next to Turning on "Cartridge Protection" will permanently protect the cartridges to turn it on or off. Cartridge warranty information The HP cartridge warranty is applicable when the cartridge is used in its designated HP printing device. This warranty does not cover HP ink cartridges that have been refilled, remanufactured, refurbished, misused, or tampered with. During the warranty period the cartridge is covered as long as the HP ink is not depleted and the end of warranty date has not been reached.
