Hardware Installations and Upgrades Replacing System Fan The system fan is located on the back of the Intel® Entry Storage System SS4000-E. Note: Replacement of the system fan should only be done by qualified service personnel. Note: Before performing any maintenance on the storage system, back up all data. Shut down the storage system by selecting the Advanced tab from the Manager and then Shutdown from the left menu. 1. Observe all safety and ESD precautions listed in Appendix H, "Safety Information". 2. Remove the new system fan from its packaging. 3. If you cannot shut down the system using the software Manager then power down the storage system by pressing and holding the power button for approximately five seconds until the System Status LED starts flashing. The storage system shuts off after a short shutdown period. Caution: Ensure the system is completely shutdown before removing the power chord. 4. Disconnect the storage system from its power source. 5. Remove the four screws at the back of the enclosure cover. See letter "A" in the following figure. Replacing System Fan
The system fan is located on the back of the Intel
®
Entry Storage System SS4000-E.
Note:
Replacement of the system fan should only be done by qualified service personnel.

Remove the new system fan from its packaging.
3.
