Table 70 describes the link types. Table 70. OSPFv3 Link Types Link Type Auto Number of Routers Varies Broadcast Any Passive Description XCM8800 automatically determines the OSPFv3 link type based on the interface type. This is the default setting. Routers must elect a designated router (DR) and a backup designated router (BDR) during synchronization. Ethernet is an example of a broadcast link. A passive link does not send or receive OSPFv3 packets. Note: The number of routers in an OSPFv3 point-to-point link is determined per VLAN, not per link.
