You can use web-based, MAC-based, or IEEE 802.1x-based authentication with network login. The two modes of operation are campus mode and ISP mode. A netmask is a string of 0s and 1s that mask, or screen out, the network part of an IP address, so that only the host computer part of the address remains. Network layer reachability information. In BGP, the system sends routing update messages containing NLRI to describe a route and how to get there. A BGP update message carries one or more NLRI prefixes and the attributes of a route for each NLRI prefix; the route attributes include a BGP next hop gateway address, community values, and other information. On modular switches, using the CLI, you can display how long each following individual component has been in service: • chassis • MSMs • I/O modules • power controllers On stand-alone switches, you display the days of service for the switch.
