Creating Folders, Deleting Documents and Folders, Renaming Documents and Folders in the Desktop

The new document will appear in the Desktop Area as an Untitled document. See "Renaming Documents and Folders in the Desktop" in this chapter for information on how to change the document name. Notes: • New documents are black and white only, with a resolution of 200 dpi. The resolution cannot be changed. • If a color bitmap image is pasted into a Laser Multifunction Desktop document, it will be converted to black and white. Creating Folders New folders are created in a similar way as new documents. Click on the folder you wish to place the new folder inside of, and then either click on the New folder button in the Toolbar, or select New Folder... from the File menu. The New Folder dialog box will appear, where you can name the folder (up to 31 characters). Once you have entered the name in the Folder Name field, click on OK. The folder will appear in the File Cabinet. Deleting Documents and Folders To delete a document or folder, select it by clicking on it once, and then select Delete from the File menu, or right-click the mouse and select Delete from the pop-up menu. In the dialog box that appears, click on Yes.You can also delete more than one document at once, by holding down the Ctrl key and then clicking on the desired documents. Creating Folders
New folders are created in a similar way as new documents. Click on the folder you
wish to place the new folder inside of, and then either click on the
New folder
button
in the Toolbar, or select
New Folder...
from the File menu. The New Folder dialog box
will appear, where you can name the folder (up to 31 characters).
Once you have entered the name in the
Folder Name
field, click on
OK
. The folder will
appear in the File Cabinet.
Deleting Documents and Folders
To delete a document or folder, select it by clicking on it once, and then select
Delete
from the File menu, or right-click the mouse and select
Delete
from the pop-up menu.
In the dialog box that appears, click on
Yes
. You can also delete more than one
document at once, by holding down the
Ctrl
key and then clicking on the desired
documents. In the dialog box that appears, click on
Yes To All
.
Note:
You cannot delete the Main Folder.
