2 In the Tools menu, select Image Enhancement. A menu with the tools will appear.You can use these tools to manipulate the document that is open. Any changes you make can be undone with the Undo command in the Edit menu. Below is a description of each tool and some suggested uses: • Rotate Left/Rotate Right These commands allow you to rotate an image 90 degrees left or right. • Flip Horizontally This flips an image horizontally, as if it were on a sheet of transparent film and you flipped it over to view it from the other side. • Flip Vertically The effect on the image is the same as the Flip Horizontally command, except that the image is flipped vertically. • Straighten The straightening tool is especially useful on images that have become slightly skewed, or look a bit off after scanning. • Invert This feature changes dark areas to light, and vice versa. In effect, it creates a "photographic negative" of the image. • Sharpen... This feature accentuates the differences between light and dark pixels to create greater contrast in the image. Move the slider as desired to sharpen or blur an image. • Gray Scale Remove all colors and convert the document to black and white with shades of gray. • Contrast Increase or decrease the contrast to brighten or darken an image. • Crop This feature is used to crop (cut off) the edges of an image. After selecting this tool, drag the cursor to select the rectangular area of the image that you want to remain.
