9. Servicing the AV System Vibration-damping springs, annular buffers and stop buffers are used for the connection between the handlebar, tank housing and engine housing. Damaged springs and buffers must always be replaced. - Check the AV spring and plug, replace if necessary. Installing 2 9.2 AV Spring on Fuel Tank - Remove the handlebar, b 9.3 1 9.1 AV Spring on Oil Tank The antivibration elements are located in the area of the oil tank and are secured to the underside of the machine. - Remove the handlebar, b 9.4 1 The bearing plug (1) must be screwed into the AV spring (2) as far as stop. : Screw the AV spring (2) with bearing plug (1) onto the plug (arrow) as far as stop. 1 - Install the tank housing, b 12.11.5 2310RA234 TG 1 2 2310RA236 TG : Take out the screws (1). : Press the tank housing (2) down a little and hold it there. 2310RA232 TG 1 2310RA237 TG : Take out the screw (1). - Remove the tank housing, b 12.11.5 : Remove the cover (1). 1 2310RA235 TG 1 : Insert and tighten down the 2 screw (1) firmly. - Reassemble all other parts in the reverse sequence. 2310RA233 TG : Unscrew the AV spring (1) with bearing plug (2). 66 MS 231, MS 231 C, MS 251, MS 251 C

Servicing the AV System
Vibration-damping springs, annular
buffers and stop buffers are used for
the connection between the
handlebar, tank housing and engine
housing.
Damaged springs and buffers must
always be replaced.

AV Spring on Oil Tank
The antivibration elements are
located in the area of the oil tank
and are secured to the underside of
the machine.
Remove the handlebar,

Take out the screw (1).
Remove the tank housing,

Unscrew the AV spring (1) with
bearing plug (2).

Check the AV spring and plug,
replace if necessary.
Installing
The bearing plug (1) must be
screwed into the AV spring (2) as
far as stop.

Screw the AV spring (2) with
bearing plug (1) onto the
plug (arrow) as far as stop.
Install the tank housing,

Insert and tighten down the
screw (1) firmly.
Reassemble all other parts in the
reverse sequence.

Remove the handlebar,

Take out the screws (1).

Press the tank housing (2) down
a little and hold it there.

Remove the cover (1).
