Chapter 1 Booting, Logging In, and Getting Started Using the Configuration Script Table 1-3 describes each Configuration Script menu item. Table 1-3 Configuration Script Menu Options Menu Option Layer3 Load Balancing Layer5 Load Balancing Proxy Cache Transparent Cache Exit Script Function Configure Layer 3 load balancing to enable the CSS to use a Virtual IP address (VIP) to load balance web traffic to web servers based on IP addresses. Configure Layer 5 load balancing to enable the CSS to use a VIP address to load balance web traffic to web servers based on URLs. Configure proxy cache to enable the CSS to use a Virtual IP address (VIP) to load balance web traffic to proxy cache servers based on domain name. Configure transparent cache to enable the CSS to redirect cacheable HTTP traffic to transparent cache servers based on IP address and port (80). Exit from the script and save the information you entered to the CSS running-config file. The CSS displays the running-config file.
