5-6 Compaq ProLiant 8500 Servers Setup and Installation Guide Option ROM-Based Array Configuration Utility The Option ROM-based Array Configuration Utility allows you to setup a simple configuration during Power-On Self-Test (POST). During POST the configuration state of the internal SCSI drives is detected. If either of the following conditions exist, the initial start screen will be displayed. s there are no logical drives configured s there is only one logical drive configured and there are no more than 6 physical drives attached to all of the SCSI buses supported At the initial screen, press Esc to bypass the Option ROM-Based Configuration Utility. You can configure the internal drives later using the Array Configuration Utility while running SmartStart. At the initial screen, press F10 to run the utility. If there are no logical drives detected, you will be prompted to indicate the operating system to be used. You are then prompted to choose the logical drive configuration. The utility will use all internal physical drives to configure one logical drive. You can change this configuration later using the Array Configuration Utility. If there is one logical drive detected, you are offered the option to delete the configuration. Deleting the configuration will result in loss of any data on the drive. If you delete an existing configuration, you can set up a new configuration after you reboot.

Option ROM-Based Array Configuration
Utility
The Option ROM-based Array Configuration Utility allows you to setup a
simple configuration during Power-On Self-Test (POST). During POST the
configuration state of the internal SCSI drives is detected. If either of the
following conditions exist, the initial start screen will be displayed.
there are no logical drives configured
there is only one logical drive configured and there are no more than 6
