If there are more than four processors installed, install a second Cache Accelerator module as in step 5. 7. Replace the air baffle and fasten the thumbscrew. 8. Replace the Processor and Memory module and reconnect the power cord(s). 9. Turn on the server. See Chapter 2, "Server Installation." SDRAM Memory You can expand computer memory by installing industry-standard Dual Inline Memory Modules (DIMMs) into the memory expansion boards. The following requirements must be met when installing additional memory: s Supports 100-MHz Registered SDRAM 128-MB, 256-MB, and 512-MB. Will also support 1-GB DIMMs when they are available. s Expandable to 8GB using 512-K DIMMs (16GB when 1-GB DIMMs are available) Groups of two DIMMs of the same size, type, and speed must be installed or removed at a time (the eight groups on the memory board are referred to as banks 1 through 8).
