Processor Serial Number The Processor Serial Number is a Pentium III Xeon processor manageability feature. It can be used for network inventory and tracking purposes. Compaq ProLiant 8500 servers are shipped with this feature disabled. You can enable the feature using the System Configuration utility. Removing the Media Module CAUTION: Do not attempt to open any of the three modules while power is applied to the system. They are not hot pluggable. Immediate system shutdown and loss of data will occur. To remove media module: 1. If the server is on, place it in Standby mode and disconnect the power cord(s). See Chapter 2, "Server Installation." 2. Push the sides of the cam levers 1 on the media module in and rotate the top of the levers downward 2 as shown in the following figure. 3. Pull the media module out of the chassis until it makes contact with the module stop latch.
