Considerations
You can use the GUI or the CLUI. See host volumes
actions cross reference
.
Procedure
This procedure uses the GUI.
1.
In the navigation pane, select
Host Volumes
. The content pane displays host volumes resources.
2.
Click the appropriate
List
tab.
3.
Select the resource to view.
4.
Select
Actions > View Properties
. The Host Volume Properties window opens.
5.
Click the properties tabs.
Extending host volume capacity
Increase the size of a host volume.
Considerations
You can only use the GUI to extend a host volume.
You can extend the
le system or the underlying array virtual disk.
You can extend a host volume until its size reaches that of the underlying virtual disk. At that
point, it is necessary to extend the size of the virtual disk to provide additional capacity to extend
the
le system.
Make sure the DC-Management license installed supports the desired extend capacity.
Use care when manually extending a host volume on which you have set a dynamic policy. See
Using DC-Management with replication
for more information.
Procedure
1.
In the navigation pane, select
Host Volumes
.
2.
On the
Host Volumes
tab, select the host volume that you want to extend.
3.
Select
Actions > Extend capacity
. The Host Volume Extend window opens. Follow the instructions
in the window.
Shrinking host volume capacity
Decrease the size of a host volume.
Considerations
You can only use the GUI to shrink a host volume.
You can shrink the
le system or the underlying array virtual disk.
The minimum size to which you can shrink a host volume is determined by the amount of data on
the host volume. You cannot make a host volume too small to accommodate the data on it.
The minimum virtual disk size depends on the
le system size.
Use care when manually shrinking a host volume on which you have set a dynamic policy. See
Using DC-Management with replication
for more information.
Procedure
1.
In the navigation pane, select
Host Volumes
.
2.
On the
Host Volumes
tab, select the host volume that you want to shrink.
3.
Select
Actions > Shrink capacity
. The Host Volume Shrink window opens. Follow the instructions
