Considerations • Oracle repository. You can only restore Oracle resources if a repository exists that contains point-in-time copies of the resources. The repository and resources must have been created using the replication manager. • Tablespaces. You can choose to restore all tablespaces in the repository, or not. • Archived redo logs. You can choose to restore all associated archived redo logs in the repository, or not. • Oracle server to restore to. The server to restore to must be on an enabled host that is available to the replication manager. See enabled hosts. Procedure overview This overview summarizes how to use jobs. Creating jobs that restore Oracle resources 1. Locate the job template to restore an Oracle database. See Restore Oracle tablespaces template. 2. Create a job by generating a job template. Save the job. See creating jobs. 3. Validate the job to ensure that all resources are available. See validating jobs. Running and scheduling jobs You can run a job on-demand or schedule the job to run one or more times on a schedule. • On-demand. See running jobs. • Scheduled. See creating scheduled job events. Oracle actions summary The following actions are available on the Oracle content pane. Some actions have equivalent job commands. See Oracle actions cross reference. Considerations
Oracle repository
. You can only restore Oracle resources if a repository exists that contains
point-in-time copies of the resources. The repository and resources must have been created
using the replication manager.
Tablespaces
. You can choose to restore all tablespaces in the repository, or not.
Archived redo logs
. You can choose to restore all associated archived redo logs in the repository,
or not.
Oracle server to restore to
. The server to restore to must be on an enabled host that is available to
the replication manager. See
enabled hosts
.
Procedure overview
This overview summarizes how to use jobs.
Creating jobs that restore Oracle resources
1.
Locate the job template to restore an Oracle database. See
Restore Oracle tablespaces
template.
2.
Create a job by generating a job template. Save the job. See
creating jobs
.
3.
Validate the job to ensure that all resources are available. See
validating jobs
.
Running and scheduling jobs
You can run a job on-demand or schedule the job to run one or more times on a schedule.
On-demand. See
running jobs
.
Scheduled. See
creating scheduled job events
