Single sign-on (SSO) with HP Command View EVA Administrators can establish a single sign-on (SSO) trust relationship in HP Command View EVA that allows the replication manager to connect without sending the Storage Agent user name and password. The on/off status of SSO is displayed in the replication manager GUI but cannot be configured from there. To configure SSO, access HP Command View EVA and select Server Options > System Insight Manager/Replication Solutions Manager trust relationships. Storage management server configuration Administrators can review and change settings for the management server. • Manage. Enable and disable management of storage systems via the local instance of HP Command View EVA. • Refresh Period. Set the interval for automatic discovery and refresh of resources. See refreshing resources (automatic). IMPORTANT: Best practices apply. See best practices for automatic refresh. • Storage Agent Login Password. Save the user name and password for the local instance of HP Command View EVA in the replication manager database. For the procedure, see accessing the configuration window. User preferences configuration You can configure various display aspects of lists and trees so that changes are remembered. • Default: user preferences are disabled. • Configurable display aspects include: column order, relative column width, sort column, and tree expansion state. RSM database About the RSM database The RSM database contains information on available resources, jobs, job instances, replication manager events, and DC-Management settings. See exporting an RSM database, importing an RSM database and importing a remote RSM database. About exports The export feature creates a copy (XML file) of the active RSM database. • Exported copies can only be created in an existing folder on the storage management server. • You can assign a file name or let the replication manager automatically assign a name. • Automatically assigned file names have the format: CADATA_timestamp.export.xml where timestamp is the year, month, day, hour, minute, and second the file was created. RSM database
About the RSM database
The RSM database contains information on available resources, jobs, job instances, replication manager
events, and DC-Management settings. The database is updated through several methods, including
real-time updates, automatic refreshes, and manual global refreshes. See
refreshing resources (automatic)
and
refreshing resources (global)
.
The active RSM database cannot be accessed by administrators or users. Administrators, however, can
export and import copies of the database. See
exporting an RSM database
,
importing an RSM database
and
importing a remote RSM database
.
About exports
The export feature creates a copy (XML
le) of the active RSM database.
Exported copies can only be created in an
existing
folder on the storage management server.
You can assign a
le name or let the replication manager automatically assign a name.
Automatically assigned
le names have the format:
CADATA_timestamp.export.xml
where
timestamp
is the year, month, day, hour, minute, and second the
le was created. For example,
