Mounting all logical volumes in a replicated volume group The local replication wizard mounts all of the logical volumes in a replicated volume group, as appropriate: • If a logical volume is mounted when the volume group is replicated, then the logical volume replica will be mounted. • If a logical volume is not mounted when the volume group is replicated, , then the logical volume replica will not be mounted. • When replicated, the original volume group must have at least one mounted logical volume. If the volume group has no mounted logical volumes, or has only raw logical volumes, this operation may fail when the wizard's job is run. Mount point prefixes - general • When mounting to the same host as the original, you must include a mount point prefix. • When mounting to a different host than the original, a prefix is optional. • If you use the wizard to create multiple replicas of a volume group and you plan to mount the replicas to the same host at the same time, you must use a unique mount point prefix for each volume group replica. Mount point prefixes - OS specifics Mount points that you specify must be comply with OS formats. For example, with most UNIX OSs, specifying /backup would add /backup to mount points for all logical volumes in the volume group. Linux. You cannot mount a volume group replica on the same host as the source volume group. OpenVMS. OpenVMS does not support volume groups. This operation is not applicable to OpenVMS volume sets. Solaris. You cannot mount a volume group replica on the same host as the source volume group. Tru64 UNIX. Windows. Windows does not support volume groups. Mount points (drive letters) and device names The mount point property indicates whether a host volume is mounted in the host's file system or not. Values are: • Mount point identifier. Identifies the location in the host's file system where a host volume is attached. Mount points are displayed in OS-specific format. • Not mounted. Mounting all logical volumes in a replicated volume group
The local replication wizard mounts all of the logical volumes in a replicated volume group, as
appropriate:
If a logical volume
is mounted
when the volume group is replicated, then the logical volume
replica will be mounted.
If a logical volume
is not mounted
when the volume group is replicated, , then the logical volume
replica will not be mounted.
When replicated, the original volume group
must have at least one mounted logical volume
. If the
volume group has no mounted logical volumes, or has only raw logical volumes, this operation
