MX5100VR.qxd 6/04/2004 3:37 PM Page 48 48 Hi-Fi Stereo Multi-Channel Television Sound system broadcasts are recorded in Hi-Fi stereo.To play in Hi-Fi stereo the tapes recorded in Hi-Fi stereo, follow these steps. 1 Press VCR, then press DISC/MENU. - M E N U - B TIMER PROGRAMMING AUTO REPEAT [OFF] CHANNEL SET UP CLOCK SET LANGUAGE SELECT AUDIO OUT TV STEREO [ON] SAP 4 2 Press o or p to select AUDIO OUT. Then, press B. - M E N U - TIMER PROGRAMMING AUTO REPEAT [OFF] CHANNEL SET UP CLOCK SET LANGUAGE SELECT B AUDIO OUT TV STEREO [ON] SAP 3 Press o or p to select HIFI. ON will appear beside HIFI. TIMER SET STANDBY-ON SETUP/ AUDIO/ PROG BAND SUBTITLE ANGLE REC DISPLAY ZOOM SKIP/ CH TITLE C-RESET CLEAR MODE/SPEED SKIP/ CH RETURN DVD DISC MENU TUNER VCR OK STOP PLAY 1 2-3 REW FF PAUSE SLOW 123 VCR/TV 456 SEARCH MODE 789 REPEAT REPEAT +10 0 A-B SURROUND SOUND VOLUME -+ PHILIPS AUDIO OUT B HIFI MONO [ON] 4 Press DISC/MENU to remove the menu. Helpful Hints • Programs are recorded in both HiFi stereo sound and in monaural sound. • The audio level of a tape recorded in Hi-Fi stereo will differ from the audio level of a tape not recorded in Hi-Fi stereo. • You can change to MONO if you want monaural audio playback. Choose MONO at step 3. HIFI will disappear from the status display. • If you play non-Hi-Fi tapes while AUDIO OUT is set to HIFI, HIFI will not appear on the status display. The tape will play in monaural sound. Please see additional notes on page 81.
