MX5100VR.qxd 6/04/2004 3:37 PM Page 72 72 Audio Change Audio settings based on other equipment you connected to the System or according to your Disc sound features.These settings only affect the Disc Audio playback from the DVD Player of the System. 1 Press DVD to put the System in DVD mode.The red DVD light will appear on the front of the System. 2 1 While playback is stopped, press SETUP/PROG. The QUICK SETUP screen will appear. 3 Press B to select CUSTOM at the top of the menu, then press OK. This menu will appear. Choosing ON compresses the range of volume by suppressing loud sounds and raising low sounds. ● If you selected DOLBY DIGITAL, press OK repeatedly to select ON or OFF. Select ON if you used the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT COAXIAL jack to connect the System to a stereo that is Dolby Digital compatible. Details are on page 15. Otherwise, choose OFF. ● If you selected DOWN SAMPLING, press OK repeatedly to choose ON or OFF. Choose ON to set downsampling to 48 kHz. Choose OFF to set downsampling to 96 kHz. STOP PLAY REW FF PAUSE SLOW 123 VCR/TV 456 SEARCH MODE 789 REPEAT REPEAT +10 0 A-B SURROUND SOUND VOLUME -+ PHILIPS Helpful Hints • Dolby Digital sound must be available on the DVD. • You can adjust DOLBY DIGITAL in the QUICK SETUP menu that appears when you first press SETUP/PROG.With QUICK selected, press OK. Press p to select DOLBY DIGITAL. Press OK to choose ON or OFF. Press SETUP/PROG to remove the menu. • When you play a Disc that has copyright protection, downsampling will be at 48 kHz, even if you set DOWN SAMPLING to OFF.
