8 Vocal Harmony - Adding Harmony Vocals and Synth Vocoder to Your Singing - The Vocal Harmony feature lets you automatically apply harmony vocals in three different sub-modes (Chordal, Vocoder and VocoderMono) to your voice as you sing into the connected microphone. Newly enhanced for the Tyros4, Vocal Harmony features a new harmony‐generating engine (called VH2) that provides extraordinarily realistic harmonies, quickly and accurately tracking the pitch of your singing, and effectively maintaining the natural qualities of your voice in the harmony parts. Included in the feature is a Synth Vocoder effect, also newly enhanced for the Tyros4. Synth Vocoder lets you graft the unique characteristics of your voice onto synthesizer and other sounds, for unusual machine‐like or robotic effects, as well as luscious choir sounds, which you can control with your own singing and playing. The Synth Vocoder is a complex effect that mimics the workings of the human voice. This effect extracts the natural filter characteristics of the voice from the microphone input and recreates the vocal formants by the use of multiple band pass filters. The machine-like 'robot' voice is created by passing the pitched sounds of musical instruments (such as a synthesizer sound) through the filters. Both Vocal Harmony and Synth Vocoder have an extensive set of detailed parameters, giving you comprehensive, flexible control of the sound. Vocal Harmony
– Adding Harmony Vocals and Synth Vocoder to Your Singing
The Vocal Harmony feature lets you automatically apply harmony
vocals in three different sub-modes (Chordal, Vocoder and Vocoder-
Mono) to your voice as you sing into the connected microphone.
Newly enhanced for the Tyros4, Vocal Harmony features a new har-
mony‐generating engine (called VH2) that provides extraordinarily
realistic harmonies, quickly and accurately tracking the pitch of your
singing, and effectively maintaining the natural qualities of your voice
in the harmony parts.
Included in the feature is a Synth Vocoder effect, also newly enhanced for the Tyros4. Synth Vocoder lets you
graft the unique characteristics of your voice onto synthesizer and other sounds, for unusual machine‐like or
robotic effects, as well as luscious choir sounds, which you can control with your own singing and playing.
The Synth Vocoder is a complex effect that mimics the workings of the human voice. This effect extracts the nat-
ural filter characteristics of the voice from the microphone input and recreates the vocal formants by the use of
multiple band pass filters. The machine-like ‘robot’ voice is created by passing the pitched sounds of musical
instruments (such as a synthesizer sound) through the filters.
Both Vocal Harmony and Synth Vocoder have an extensive set of detailed parameters, giving you comprehen-
sive, flexible control of the sound.
