Chapter 9 Wireless 9.4 MON Mode Use this screen to assign APs either to the rogue AP list or the friendly AP list. A rogue AP is a wireless access point operating in a network's coverage area that is not under the control of the network administrator, and which can potentially open up holes in a network's security. Click Configuration > Wireless > MON Mode to access this screen. Figure 100 Configuration > Wireless > MON Mode Each field is described in the following table. Table 59 Configuration > Wireless > MON Mode LABEL General Settings Enable Rogue AP Containment Rogue/Friendly AP List Add Edit Remove Containment DESCRIPTION Select this to enable rogue AP containment. Click this button to add an AP to the list and assign it either friendly or rogue status. Select an AP in the list to edit and reassign its status. Select an AP in the list to remove. Click this button to quarantine the selected AP. Dis-Containment A quarantined AP cannot grant access to any network services. Any stations that attempt to connect to a quarantined AP are disconnected automatically. Click this button to take the selected AP out of quarantine. # Containment An unquarantined AP has normal access to the network. This field is a sequential value, and it is not associated with any interface. This field indicates the selected AP's containment status. UAG Series User's Guide 144
