You can change the color of all text in a selected text block or of all highlighted text in a text block. In addition, stroke and Live Filters can be added to all text in a selected text block but not to text that is highlighted in a text block. • The Text tool retains the current text color from text block to text block. • Stroke characteristics and Live Filters that are applied to a text block are updated as you edit text in the text block, but those updates are not applied to new text blocks. • The Text tool retains the current text color regardless of the fill color of other tools. After you use a fill color and return to the Text tool, the fill color reverts to the most recent Text tool setting, and the stroke is reset to None. See "Save stroke, fill, and filter text attributes as a style" on page 98. Set the color of text in a selected text block ❖ Do one of the following: • Click the Fill Color box in the Property inspector and select a color from the color pop-up window. Or, with either color pop-up window open, use the eyedropper pointer to sample a color from anywhere on the screen. Or, with the Fill Color box pop-up window open, use the eyedropper to sample a color anywhere on the screen. Note: When you apply a stroke to highlighted text in a text block, the entire text block is automatically selected. Set spacing between lines and letters Kerning increases or decreases the spacing (in percentages) between certain pairs of letters to improve their appearance. Auto-kerning uses a font's kerning information when displaying text. Tracking increases or decreases the spacing between selected characters. Apply color to text
By default, text is black and has no stroke. You can change the color of all text in a selected text block or of all
highlighted text in a text block. In addition, stroke and Live Filters can be added to all text in a selected text block
but not to text that is highlighted in a text block.
The Text tool retains the current text color from text block to text block.

Do one of the following:
