Break the link to a style You can break the link between an object and the style applied to it. The object retains the same attributes, but no longer changes if the style is changed. 1 Select the object that has the style applied to it. 2 In the lower-right area of the Property inspector, click the Break Link To Style button. Fireworks has three types of symbols: graphic, animation, and button. When you edit the original symbol object, the copied instances automatically change to reflect the edited symbol (unless you break the link between the two).
