Launch VK Viewer and Display the Configuration and Preferences Screen Launch Storage Server by Specifying the IP address If you installed the Viewer and Storage Server on separate PC, specify an IP address of Storage Server and connect Viewer to the Storage Server. 1 Select Use IP address from the drop-down menu. 2 Click Connect. 3 Enter the IP address or host name of the Master Storage Server in Host Name or IP, and the port number in Port. 4 Click Connect. 4 5 Enter your User Name and Password, and then click Login. Register Camera Server and Set Recording Schedule If you use a proxy server, you should change the Internet option settings in the following procedure: Note 1. Select Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Internet Option. 2. Select the Connection tab. 3. Click LAN settings. Change the proxy server settings. If using a proxy server between a Viewer and a Storage Server, it should not perform response buffering. The Proxy Server which is configured to perform response buffering may lead to delays in sending small amounts of data (such as events) from the Storage Server to the Viewer. You cannot use the Apache proxy server since it perform response buffering. You cannot send or receive audio when using a proxy server. The dialog for entering the IP address will also be displayed even when connection to the Storage Server failed. Tip 79
