Important to note that as a result of a factory reset, all containers and data in the containers are deleted. CAUTION: The Factory Reset mode deletes all DR4000 system data. Factory Reset mode should only be used when the container data is no longer needed. Downloading the Restore Manager The RM runs from a USB boot key containing the RM image, which must first be downloaded from the Dell support site. 1 From a web browser, navigate to the following Dell website: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads 2 Enter the DR4000 system Service Tag to be directed to the DR4000 system download page. 3 In the Category drop-down list, select IDM. 4 If required, expand the IDM category to list the available IDM download files. 5 Locate, select, and download the Restore Manager file (in the RM filename format "DR4000-UM-x.x.x.xxxxx.tag.gz"). Creating the RM USB key The RM image (.img) file downloaded from the Dell support site must be transferred to a USB key. The USB key must be 2 GB (Gigabytes) or larger. Windows USB Image Tools can be used to transfer the RM image provided that they support the .img file format and can perform a direct block-to-block device copy to ensure the USB key is bootable. The following steps can be performed on a Linux/Unix system to transfer the RM image to the USB key: 1 Copy the downloaded RM image file to a Linux/Unix system.
