2 Open the system. See "Opening the System" on page 97. 3 Remove the system-board assemblies. See "Removing a System-Board Assembly" on page 68. 4 Remove the cooling fans. See "Removing a Cooling Fan" on page 98. 5 Remove the screws that secure the cooling-fan brackets to the chassis. See Figure 3-24. 6 Lift the cooling-fan brackets out of the chassis. See Figure 3-24. Figure 3-25. 8 Disconnect all the cables from the upper middle plane. See Figure 5-9. Note the routing of the cable underneath the tabs on the chassis as you remove them from the system. You must route these cables properly when you replace them to prevent the cables from being pinched or crimped. 106 | Installing System Components
