Chapter 8 Installing Additional Processors Introduction The NetServer LPr supports up to two processor modules. Processor modules are available at different clock speeds. Both processor modules must operate at the same clock frequency. The processor upgrade kit includes the HP NetServer Navigator CD-ROM. Boot with this CD-ROM after installing the additional processor to update the BIOS. Tools Required These tools are required for removal and installation of CPU modules: • If you have to remove the LPr chassis from the rack, use Torx T25 driver. Refer to the last section of Chapter 9, "Removing the NetServer from the Rack" for instructions. • An anti-static service kit (3M™ 8501/8502/8503 or equivalent). This kit includes a static-dissipating work surface, a chassis clip lead, and a wrist strap. Installation Steps Verify Contents CAUTION Do not remove the processor from its bag until you are ready to install it. Make sure the bag remains sealed.
