Chapter 9 Mounting the Server in the Rack Installing the HP NetServer LPr in the Rack Step 1: Determine the rack configuration. Use the HP Rack Assistant software to determine where in the rack to mount the HP NetServer LPr. You may use tape or a marker pen to mark the bottom of the two EIA units required by the LPr. NOTE The HP NetServer LPr is two EIA units high. On the outside face of the rack, the EIA spaces are labeled from bottom to top in ascending order. Use the original ordering information to locate where each component goes in the rack. See Figure 9-4. If the original ordering information is not available, use HP rack configuration tools to plan the location of the components. 64

Step 1:
Determine the rack configuration.
Use the HP Rack Assistant software to determine where in the rack to mount the
HP NetServer LPr. You may use tape or a marker pen to mark the bottom of the
two EIA units required by the LPr.
NOTE
The HP NetServer LPr is two EIA units high. On the outside
face of the rack, the EIA spaces are labeled from bottom to top
in ascending order.
