Chapter 9 Mounting the Server in the Rack Step 10: Tighten down the rack mounting screws. Once all 12 Torx screws (6 in the front and 6 in the rear) have been fingertightened, use a T25 Torx driver to tighten them down in two passes while applying downward pressure on the chassis: • On the first pass, snug the screws 90 ° to 180°. • On the second pass, tighten them all the way down. NOTE Apply downward pressure on the LPr chassis as you tighten the screws to ensure that it seats within its two EIA spaces; otherwise, you may find that it sits a little high and gets into the EIA space above it. Continue with the Installation Process After you install the HP NetServer in the rack, refer to Chapter 1 to continue with the process of installing and configuring your HP rack system. Removing the NetServer from the Rack You must remove the NetServer LPr entirely from the rack to access internal components. NOTE To remove the LPr from the rack, you must disconnect signal and power connectors from the NetServer's rear panel. If necessary, mark the cables clearly as you remove them to support reassembly. Follow these steps: 1. Log off all users. Back up files. Follow instructions in your network operating system (NOS) documentation to gracefully shut down all networking software and applications. 2. Press the power switch on the HP NetServer's control panel when prompted by the operating system. 74
