Installing tray heater in a HP LaserJet 2000-sheet HCI Please review the LaserJet A3 videos for a complete understanding of the installation of each device. Use these checklists as a reminder of the steps demonstrated in the videos. NOTE: The installation of the tray heater in the 2000-sheet HCI is shown. NOTE: These devices come standard with tray heaters in tray 2 and tray 3. Tray heaters are also available as an accessory for the dual cassette feeder and 2000 Sheet HCI. Tray heaters are not supported in the sHCI. Click here to view a video of this procedure. Table 8-4 On-site installation of tray heaters ❑ Power down and unplug the MFP. CAUTION: You MUST unplug because the tray heaters are ALWAYS energized if f the power cord is plugged in and the tray heater switch is ON. ❑ Unpack the tray heater. ❑ Open the tray on the 2000-sheet HCI. ❑ Rotate the latch on the left. ❑ Push in on the latch on the right. ❑ Remove the tray from the 2000-sheet HCI.. ❑ Note the cable connector on the tray heater. ❑ Note the tabs on the rear of the tray heater. ❑ Route the cable through the opening in the rear wall of the 2000-sheet HCI.. ❑ Insert the tabs on the rear of the tray heater into the slots in the rear wall of the 2000-sheet HCI. ❑ Install one screw to secure the tray heater. ❑ Remove the rear cover of the 2000-sheet HCI. ❑ Connect the cable from the tray heater to the cable of the 2000-sheet HCI. ❑ Reinstall the rear cover of the 2000-sheet HCI.. ❑ Reinstall the tray into the 2000-sheet HCI. ❑ Remove trays 2 and 3 from the main body. ❑ Locate the tray heater power switch in the rear of the tray opening. ❑ Turn the switch ON to apply power to the tray heater(s). ❑ Reinstall trays 2 and 3 into the device. ❑ Plug the MFP into the power outlet and power the device on. On-site installation of tray heaters

Power down and unplug the MFP.
CAUTION:
You MUST unplug because the tray heaters are ALWAYS energized if f the power cord is plugged in and the tray heater
switch is ON.
❑
Unpack the tray heater.
❑
Open the tray on the 2000-sheet HCI.
❑
Rotate the latch on the left.
❑
Push in on the latch on the right.
❑
Remove the tray from the 2000-sheet HCI..
❑
Note the cable connector on the tray heater.
❑
Note the tabs on the rear of the tray heater.
❑
Route the cable through the opening in the rear wall of the 2000-sheet HCI..
❑
Insert the tabs on the rear of the tray heater into the slots in the rear wall of the 2000-sheet HCI.
❑
Install one screw to secure the tray heater.
❑
Remove the rear cover of the 2000-sheet HCI.
❑
Connect the cable from the tray heater to the cable of the 2000-sheet HCI.
❑
Reinstall the rear cover of the 2000-sheet HCI..
❑
Reinstall the tray into the 2000-sheet HCI.
❑
Remove trays 2 and 3 from the main body.
❑
Locate the tray heater power switch in the rear of the tray opening.
❑
Turn the switch ON to apply power to the tray heater(s).
❑
Reinstall trays 2 and 3 into the device.
❑
Plug the MFP into the power outlet and power the device on.
