To reassemble the computer: 1 If you moved any cabling, restore the cable connections and routing. 2 Replace the fan duct and the side panel (see "closing the computer" on page 139). 3 Reconnect the power cable and all other cables. 4 Reconnect the modem/telephone cable. 5 Turn on the computer and all peripherals. removing a memory module 1 Turn off the computer and all peripherals. 2 Disconnect the modem/telephone cable. 3 Disconnect the power cable and all other attached cables (such as the keyboard, mouse, and monitor). DIMM and 4 Remove the side panel and the fan duct (see "removing the DDR DIMM side panel" on page 123 and "removing the fan duct" on page 124). 5 Locate the memory sockets on the motherboard. 6 Move any cabling out of the way, if necessary. 7 Push down the two retaining clips on the ends of the socket until the memory module pops out of the socket. WARNING: Do not pull the memory module out of the socket. Use the retaining clips to eject the module. 8 Holding the memory module by its edges only, lift it away from the socket. Store it in its antistatic packaging. To install a new memory module in this socket, see "installing a memory module" on page 127. 128 user's guide
