To reassemble the computer: 1 Replace the drive cage (see "replacing the drive cage" on page 139). 2 Reattach the cables to the back of the hard and diskette drives. 3 Replace the side panel (see "replacing the side panel" on page 142). 4 Reconnect the power cable and all other cables. 5 Reconnect the modem/telephone cable. 6 Turn on the computer and all peripherals. replacing the optical drive Your computer comes with one or two optical drives (CD-ROM, DVD, and/or CD-Writer or DVD+RW) in the top two bays that you can replace or upgrade. To remove the existing optical drive: 1 Turn off the computer and all peripherals. 2 Disconnect the modem/telephone cable. 3 Disconnect the power cable and all other attached cables (such as the keyboard, mouse, and monitor). 4 Remove the front cover: Locate the small release hole (A) on the top of the computer. On some computers the release hole is under the top CD holder door (Chassis II and Chassis III only). Insert a pointed object such as a strong paper clip or pen into the hole.
