Installation 3-9 3. Center one of the support braces across the rear of the base section over the holes on the rear surface of that section. 4. Insert two M4 x 20 mm Phillips sems screws through the holes in the support brace into the holes in the base section, and tighten. 5. Place pairs of tie bars so that they straddle all of the joints where sections come together. Be sure that the beveled edge is toward the inside corner of the sections. 6. Install two M3 x 20 mm Phillips sems screws through each tie bar into the threaded holes in the flanges of the extrusion sections. Only finger tighten the screws at this time. Insert two M3 x 20 mm sems screws through each tie bar into the side of the extrusion sections and then finger tighten. 7. Firmly press the neighboring sections together while tightening the two M3 x 20 mm screws through each tie bar into the flanges of the sections. Alternately tighten the screws into the flanges and those into the sides of the extrusions to ensure that each tie bar is drawn into the corner of the extrusion. IMPORTANT: Be careful not to over-tighten these screws. 8. Inspect the joint to see that the sections are well aligned, with minimal irregularities and gaps. 9. Repeat steps 6, 7, and 8 for each pair of sections. It might be necessary to use suitable blocks to support the row of sections so that neither the motor housing nor the bottom flange of the base section touches the work surface while you are connecting the motor drive section. 10. Center one of the support bars across the rear of the motor drive section over the holes on the rear surface of that section. 11. Insert two M4 x 20 mm Phillips sems screws through the holes in the support brace into the holes in the motor drive section, and then tighten. Go to the next section, "Installing the Belt."
