Loosen the four screws that hold the belt retaining plates to the block. Slide the ends of the belt under the plate until they engage the teeth on the block. Both ends of the belt should be visible through the gap between the plates as shown in Figure 3-8 (see Table 3-5). Set the belt so there is only a small space between the ends of the belt (approximately 1/32 of an inch).
