WARNING NOTE Figure 4-7 Troubleshooting, Removal, and Replacement Removing and Replacing Drive Modules (for HP Authorized Personnel) Installing a Drive Module It is not necessary to power off the library when inserting a replacement drive module. However, to avoid injury, do not insert your hand or foreign objects through the empty drive bay and into the vertical lift assembly area. 1. Hold the drive module with one hand on the drive module handle while the other hand supports the bottom (Figure 4-7). 2. Install the drive by inserting the rail at the top of the drive module into the slot at the top of the drive module opening. Higher force will be required in the last half-inch of insertion to engage the electrical connection. Installing a Drive Module 4-58 Chapter 4
