NOTE NOTE Introduction to Fibre Channel Fibre Channel with Libraries Fibre Channel with Libraries See "Fibre Channel Cable Connections" on page 1-33 for more information about installation and configuration. The Fibre Channel interfaces in the 20-slot, 40-slot, and 60-slot libraries serve as a bridge between SCSI and Fibre Channel by supporting the following: • Two actively terminated, 68-pin, fast and wide, HVD or LVD SCSI ports that support SCSI sequential access and medium changer target devices • FC-PLDA (Fibre Channel - Private Loop Direct Attach) ANSI standard • Single 1.0625 Gigabit per second Fibre Channel port • Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop (FC-AL) and switch fabric (FC-SW) topologies • Class 3 connection using SCSI-FCP protocol Libraries that do not have Fibre Channel interfaces only support the SCSI protocol.
