Chapter 3 Installing and Configuring System Board Jumper/Dip Switch Settings You need to change dip switch settings to clear the CMOS or passwords, perform a hardware flash or BIOS recovery, or when you upgrade from a 400 MHz to 533 MHz processor. The FSB jumper switch must also be moved when you upgrade to a higher speed processor. The following illustrations indicate switch locations and default settings.
