PCI or PCI Express installation 1. Disconnect power from the system ( Pre-disassembly procedures on page 50), and remove the access panel (Access panel on page 57). Place the workstation on its side with the system board facing up, and remove the PCI retainer(PCI retention clamp on page 70). 2. Open the PCI retention clamp by pressing down on the two green clips (1) at the ends of the clamp and rotating the clamp toward the back of the system. 3. Remove the PCI slot cover (2). 4. Lower the PCI (3) or PCI Express (3) card into the chassis. Verify that the keyed components of the card align with the socket. If installing a card with an auxiliary power connector, plug in the power supply cable or adapter cable supplied with the card (4). This type of card includes, but is not limited to, a PCI Express graphics card greater than 75 W, and a 1394a I/O card. 5.
