6 FUNCTIONS FOR TRANSMIT ■ Break-in function The break-in function is used in CW mode to automatically switch the transceiver between transmit and receive when keying. The IC-7200 is capable of full break-in or semi break-in. Break-in operation is also referred to as QSK. D Semi break-in operation During semi break-in operation, the transceiver immediately transmits when keying, then automatically returns to receive after a pre-set delay time has passed from when you stop keying. This is similiar to VOX operation for voice. q Push MODE to select CW or CW-R mode. • When CW mode is selected, push and hold MODE for 1 sec. to toggle between CW and CW-R modes. w S et the semi break-in function ON in the set mode. q P ush and hold M-CH/RIT SET for 1 sec. twice to enter the set mode. w R otate [M-CH] to select "BK-IN" to set the CW break-in operation. e Rotate [DIAL] to select "SE." • FL : Full break-in • SE : Semi break-in • OF : Break-in OFF r R otate [M-CH] to select "BK-DELAY" to select the CW delay time when semi break-in opera- tion is selected in step e. t Rotate [DIAL] to set the desired delay time. • The delay time is selectable from 0.2 to 13.0 (dots) in 0.1 (dots) steps. y P ush M-CH/RIT SET to exit the set mode and return to normal operation. e "BK" appears on the LCD. When using a paddle, set "KEY SPD" in the quick set mode to adjust the keying speed. Break-in function
The break-in function is used in CW mode to auto-
matically switch the transceiver between transmit and
receive when keying. The IC-7200 is capable of full
break-in or semi break-in. Break-in operation is also
referred to as QSK.

Semi break-in operation
During semi break-in operation, the transceiver im-
mediately transmits when keying, then automati-
cally returns to receive after a pre-set delay time has
passed from when you stop keying. This is similiar to
VOX operation for voice.
