Appendix B - Default Settings Wireless 802.11 Network Settings (Continued) Setting Description Default Default Router Sets the IP address of a router that is used when a device sends a packet to another subnet or to an unknown destination. DHCP Response Sets if the printer receives DHCP responses by broadcast or unicast. (IPv6) IP Assignment Method Sets how the printer obtains an IP address (for IPv6 networks). (IPv6) IP Address Sets the unique network-level address that is assigned to each device in an IPv6 network. 0.0.0.0 Broadcast Automatic Automatic Wireless 802.11 Security Settings This section describes the 802.11 security settings. To view these settings: • From the printer Main Menu, select Settings > Communications > Wireless 802.11 > Security. • From the printer web page, click the Configure tab > Communications > Wireless 802.11. Wireless 802.11 Security Settings Setting Security Type Association Pre-Shared Key Description Default Selects the protocol the radio uses to None verify its identity and makes sure that it is authorized to communicate on the wireless network. Selects the security method that the Open/WEP radio uses to get access to the wireless network. Defines the passphrase that allows None the radio to authenticate over the wireless network (for both WPA and WPA2 security).
