Changing the menu settings Icon/item OTHERS DATA CODE (On the Remote Commander) WORLD TIME BEEP COMMANDER DISPLAY REC LAMP VIDEO EDIT Mode Meaning z DATE/CAM To display date, time and various settings during playback when you press the DATA CODE button on the Remote Commander (p. 39) DATE To display date and time during playback when you press the DATA CODE button on the Remote Commander -- To set the clock to the local time. Press r/R to set a time difference. The clock changes by the time difference you set here. If you set the time difference to 0, the clock returns to the originally set time. z MELODY To output the melody when you start/stop recording or when an unusual condition occurs on your camcorder NORMAL To output the beep instead of the melody OFF To cancel melody, the beep sound and shutter sound z ON To activate the Remote Commander supplied with your camcorder OFF To deactivate the Remote Commander to avoid remote control misoperation caused by other VCR's remote control z LCD To show the display on the LCD screen and viewfinder V-OUT/LCD To show the display on the TV screen, LCD screen and viewfinder z ON To light up the camera recording lamp at the front of your camcorder OFF To turn the camera recording lamp off so that the person is not aware of the recording z RETURN To cancel video editing TAPE To make programs and perform video editing (p. 85) MEMORY To make programs and perform MPEG editing (p. 143) POWER switch VCR MEMORY CAMERA MEMORY VCR CAMERA MEMORY VCR CAMERA MEMORY VCR CAMERA MEMORY CAMERA MEMORY VCR 192 Note If you press DISPLAY/TOUCH PANEL with DISPLAY set to V-OUT/LCD in the menu settings, the picture from a TV or VCR will not appear on the LCD screen even when your camcorder is connected to the output jacks on the TV or VCR. When recording a close subject When REC LAMP is set to ON, the red camera recording lamp on the front of your camcorder may reflect on the subject if it is close. In this case, we recommend you set REC LAMP to OFF. In more than five minutes after removing the power source The PROGRAM AE, FLASH LVL, AUDIO MIX, WHT BAL, HiFi SOUND and COMMANDER items are returned to their default settings. Other menu items are held in memory even when the battery is removed.
